Rules

safety & focus comes first

Creating a safe, structured, and positive environment is essential for every inline skating class. Our field guidelines are designed to support effective learning, ensure the safety and well-being of all skaters, and help each skater get the most from their time on the field.

Our rules are clear, consistent, and non-negotiable!

Before the classes

Being on time is an important part of learning responsibility and respect. Arriving on time shows that your child takes their commitment seriously and respects the instructor and the other skaters.

There is also a practical and, most importantly, a safety reason. Skaters need time to put on their skates and protective gear and be properly prepared before entering the field. Once the class has started, faster skaters may already be moving around the field. A late arrival, especially a beginner, crossing the field while others are skating can create a serious risk of collision.

For this reason, punctuality is an essential part of every class.

Properly fitted and correctly worn protective gear is essential for safe skating. Before entering the field, every skater must make sure their helmet fits securely, their protective guards are properly in place, and their skates are fastened tightly and correctly.

A helmet and wrist guards are mandatory for every skater. No helmet, no skating. This is a strict safety requirement with no exceptions.

If you have any questions about equipment, please ask in the WhatsApp group or speak to one of our instructors before or after class. We are happy to help make sure every skater is properly and safely equipped.

For safety reasons, skaters must enter the field only through the designated access area for each location. Certain parts of the field, such as corner exits, can be high-risk zones where skaters may be moving at speed and have limited visibility.

Before entering the field, every skater must stop and check that it is safe to enter the track. Once clear, skaters should enter promptly and move directly to the inside court. Never enter the track without first checking for approaching skaters.

If a skater arrives late, access to the field may be temporarily denied. The skater must wait until the coach confirms that it is safe to enter. This ensures that late arrivals do not create an additional safety risk for skaters already on the field.

Locker rooms are provided for skaters to get ready before class and to change after skating. Skaters must put on and remove their skates and protective gear in the locker rooms, not on the field. This keeps the field clear and ensures that everyone can enter and exit safely without creating obstacles for skaters.

Bags and personal belongings should also be kept in the designated locker room area rather than brought onto the field. Please make sure all belongings are stored safely and do not obstruct walkways or access points.

Also, we advise skaters to bring with them their drinking bottle and follow the instruction of the trainers as to where to put it.

Parents are welcome to watch the classes from the designated spectator area and/or from the cantine, where you are welcome to enjoy a drink or work on your laptop while your child is skating.

During training, however, skaters need to remain fully focused on the class and the instructions of their coaches and trainers. Even well-intentioned comments, gestures, or encouragement from the sidelines can become a distraction and take away from that focus.

We understand that it can be tempting to watch from up close or say something to your child during the class. However, the coaches and trainers should be the skater’s main point of attention. Please give them the space to teach and your child the space to learn.

During the Training

During training, only skaters and authorized trainers are allowed on the field. Parents and spectators are not permitted to enter the field at any time, including in the event of an emergency.

Our trainers are responsible for supervising the skaters and handling any situation that may arise during training. If a skater needs assistance, please allow the trainers to intervene and follow their instructions.

This rule is essential to prevent confusion, avoid additional safety risks, and ensure that our trainers can respond quickly and effectively when needed. For the safety of everyone on the field, there are no exceptions.

To keep training safe and organized, skaters must use the part of the field appropriate to their level and speed. Slower skaters should remain on the inside field, while faster skaters use the outside track.

Unless a trainer specifically instructs otherwise, this separation must be followed at all times. It helps prevent unnecessary speed differences, reduces the risk of collisions, and allows every skater to train safely and effectively.

Failure to follow this rule may result in a warning. Repeated or serious disregard for the field guidelines may lead to restricted access to the field during future training sessions. These rules are in place for everyone’s safety and must be respected.

During training, skaters must remain on the field unless they have informed the trainer and received permission to leave. This is especially important for beginners, who may not yet be fully familiar with the safest routes on and off the field.

Leaving the field should only be done for a valid reason, such as going to the bathroom. This rule is in place to prevent slower skaters from unexpectedly crossing the fast lane, where faster skaters may be moving at speed, creating a serious risk of collision.

Always inform your trainer before leaving the field.

Parents are welcome to encourage and support their children from the designated spectator area. Positive encouragement can give skaters confidence and make training even more enjoyable.

However, encouragement should remain just that—encouragement. Pressuring a skater, pushing them against their will, criticizing their performance, or giving skating instructions from the sidelines can negatively affect their confidence, development, and enjoyment of the sport. This is especially true when instructions come from someone without skating experience.

Please trust our trainers to guide your child’s development and allow your child to learn, make mistakes, and progress at their own pace. Support their journey without taking away the joy of skating.

Skating is for everyone, regardless of background, appearance, abilities, or beliefs. At Skatography, we believe that every skater deserves to feel welcome, respected, and valued as part of the team. We encourage a positive mindset and a culture where skaters look out for one another.

Respect is shown through our actions. For example, when a skater falls, other skaters should always check whether they are okay and offer help when needed. Simply skating past someone who has fallen is not acceptable. Skaters who do so will be addressed by the trainer and reminded of our expectations for respect and inclusion.

We skate as individuals, but we grow as a team.

After the Session

Time for Questions

We encourage parents to ask questions after the training session. Whether you would like to understand something that happened during the class, discuss your child’s progress, or simply ask for advice, our trainers will do their best to make time for you.

Please approach the trainers after the session and allow them a moment to finish the class and ensure all skaters are safely off the field. We appreciate your patience and are always happy to help where we can.

Unfortunately, our time on the field is limited. Depending on the location and schedule, another club may be using the field immediately before or after our session. For this reason, our training time must end promptly at the scheduled time.

Once the session has finished, skaters are not permitted to continue skating on the field, even if the field appears to be free. This allows us to respect the schedule and the agreements we have with the venue and other clubs.

this is also one of the reason we ask skaters to be on time and make use of every available minute.

We encourage all skaters and parents to check that personal belongings are taken home after every training session. Skates, protective gear, water bottles, clothing, and other personal items are easily left behind, especially when packing up quickly after class.

If something is accidentally forgotten, please don’t worry. You can return to the training location and check the Lost & Found box for any items that may have been handed in.

Please remember that keeping track of personal belongings remains the responsibility of each skater and family.
